Why the Wii is my favorite

As a busy mom juggling the two different schools my daughters attend, scouts, Awanas, serving on the PTO, owning my own business, and finishing up my bachelors degree, believe me when I say I have absolutely NO time for the extras!

One thing that gets neglected at my house the most is cleaning. The laundry grows on a daily basis and the amount of paperwork that I get is ridiculous! Now please do not read this and think of the show Hoarders, but I will admit there have been weeks when I have not been able to find thing buried under the mountains of paper piles on the table and I have worn socks for a few days too many. This is where my love of the Wii comes in.

I am not a fan of having the tv 'babysit' the kids but the Wii is an interactive game that promotes exercise by the kids (they love to dance to Just Dance) and also gives me about 2 free hours to catch up on housework. Without the Wii I would have no time to clean on Saturday mornings. Thank you Nintendo!!

What is your saving grace to help you catch up on housework?

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today is a day that I hold near and dear to my heart. My husband and I are both veterans and we are proud to have served our country. I only wish we still were. For me, the 4th of July symbolizes what this nation is about, independence and freedom. We are so lucky for the lifestyles that we are allowed to live. I gripe a lot about the current happenings in our country but when you step back for a moment you have to realize how much better life in America is.

I love the flags flying, all the red, white and blue decor and the sound of the Star Spangled Banner playing during the fireworks displays. It makes me proud to be a part of America and proud to call myself an American. As far as celebrating, I love to have a bbq and watch the big fireworks displays. Unfortunately this year we are in the Arizona desert and due to the recent wildfires there will not be any fireworks allowed. My kids are really going to miss the sparklers :-(

What does the 4th symbolize for you? How do you celebrate?

It's Finally Friday!

I always look forward to Fridays and I have no idea why. I don't currently work outside the home, my husband doesn't work a "normal" schedule with weekends off, and the kids are out of school so everyday is free right now. I think it is because the weekends make me feel like I have al the time in the world without restrictions or obligations.

Do you look forward to Fridays? If you do or don't, why?

Heartmelting Moments

My four-year-old daughter said the sweetest thing yeterday. In the middle of getting ready for our trip to the pool, she looked at me and said "Mommy, you're beautiful". (Insert ahhhhh here) Now keep in mind I was stuffing myself into my bathing suit with straps that have started screaming at me so I didn't feel beautiful at all. I had to pause for a moment and appreciate that at least for the moment I am beautiful to my daughter.

Share some of your heartmelting moments. What is your favorite memory?

Monday Madness

If you are like me you do not look forward to Mondays. It is just another day but it always seems so unwelcome. After two carefree days of relaxing and enjoying spending time with my family I am pushed into the hustle and bustle of Monday. Luckily, on this Monday, it is Summer and the kids are out of school! I get a little more time to wake up in the morning and getting everyone ready for the day. Today, my hubby is off of work so I was treated to the luxury of having breakfast made for me. This is a rare event so i appreciate every minute of it.

What do you do on Mondays? Do you like them or loathe them?
